THEY MUST NEVER LEAN BACKWARDS! By adopting the correct position, the pupil will be able to hold (or balance) the guitar securely, whilst leaving both hands free to play.
FEMALE PUPILS should not hinder their progress by wearing a tight dress or skirt. They must wear the appropriate garment (pleated, flared, culottes, trousers or jeans) to enable them to benefit fully in the style of playing in which they wish to partake.
(Bicycles are never ridden side-saddle, neither are classical guitars)
BEGINNERS normally find it hard to relax and therefore find holding the guitar
correctly difficult. They must persevere and learn to be friendly with their instrument. Even
before they start playing, they MUST get used to holding the guitar correctly.
